A snapshot of guest ratings and stories behind the stay.
“In the far reaches of rural Italy, Sextantio Stefano di Sessanio is settled in a beautiful medieval village, surrounded by infinite rolling hills and mountains. Staying at Sextantio is a true jump back to pre-modern times; their values lie in preserving the culture of the region's ancestors, and passing on these customs to its guests. Their goal is to recreate the life one would have lived hundreds of years ago, bringing local traditions to every detail of the experience, from the linen used to the food served. Its “diffuso” concept is unique; the rooms are woven throughout the village, in order to bring back new life to the town’s ancient heritage. Here you can truly disconnect from the modern world and immerse yourself in a foregone expression of Italian culture which has otherwise been lost to time.”
“Super unique accomodation. Each room is in a separate “residence”, that had been fully restored and fitted with luxury featured. From check in to departure, the service was great, and the whole experience memorable. You probably only need 1 night here. Was stopped overnight on a drive from Tuscany to Puglia, and that worked well. The focus on local recipes and ingredients is to be commended, however that meant dinner was a LOT of bread courses…. Breakfast was more enjoyable. Overall, a great initiative, and a stunning stopover place with a twist!!”
“Myself and my husband are just back from a 3 night stay here and absolutely loved it. It was a complete reset for both of us, we used the time to completely relax and this place was the perfect place to do it. The staff were all so lovely and very accommodating of our very basic level of Italian. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room was comfortable and relaxed. We did a bread making course and a truffle hunting trip, both led by Andrea who was fantastic. His enthusiasm and knowledge about both topics was infectious. We will definitely be back in the future!”
